Barry M 50th Birthday Polish for Superdrug - Swatches & Review

Image
Happy Birthday Superdrug, 50 years young and still looking gorgeous. There are loads of special limited edition products on sale to celebrate this momentous day so check out the websites birthday page for more details. The one product I have been itching to get my hands on is Barry M's limited edition nail paint. Its a gorgeous pink crelly with a blue/purple shimmer. It has tons of purple, pink & white hex glitters in it and it's stunning. Its perfect for Superdrug which always uses these girly colours for it's packaging, bags and logo. I love it. The bottle is also very cute and I am a sucker for these limited edition polishes. It cost £2.99 which is the same as their normal nail paints so it's a bargain. Below shows the polish as is. Its dense in glitter and therefore has a thick consistency. However application was easy and drying time quick. Just be careful with the brush and wait for layers to dry before applying any others because you'll easily drag the p...

The Lacquer Lab - Swatches & Review

Image
Hello everyone, how has your Monday been? If you've had a bit of a dull one here is something to brighten it up. As a UK nail polish girl it's always nice to discover new brands sold locally. Especially when they're indie brands, so today and I am bringing you some amazing polishes from Lacquer Lab. I started following Lacquer Lab recently on Instagram and the first thing I noticed was how professional their business looked. The photos on their feed are fab, the bottles, packaging and collections are all way above anything I've seen from an indie brand and if I'm honest it got me really excited. Here is a brand we will see big things from and I feel lucky to get my hands on some of their polishes really early on. I got my first purchases through their recent spring sale and am thrilled with my choices. I grabbed Moonshine (a holo topcoat), Kiss Me Quick & got Joy Ride for free. A big part of me is now wishing I got more polishes ... roll on payday! Kiss Me Quick...

Essence Colour & Go - Swatches & Review

Image
Happy Saturday everyone. Although we have had some rubbish weather today (rain makes my hair frizzy and frizzy hair makes me sad) I am bringing you some sunny nail polish gems to brighten up your day. Essence has been available to buy in the UK for a while now in Wilkinson stores around the country and I am lucky to live near one, although it doesn't really update it's collections very often, it had one on display for over a year. Find more information on where you can buy essence polish in the UK at the end of the post. So I have picked up some fruity coloured beauties. The minute I saw these on the display I thought of a fruit basket full of juicy, fresh fruits and knew they'd make the perfect mini (made up) collection. Look how scrumptious those bottles are! I love this bottle design, I know essence likes to play around with their bottle shape a lot but these are my favourite shape. The glitter topper was sparkling at me, it pretty much said my name and jumped into my ha...

O.P.I Sheer Tints - Swatches & Review

Image
Happy Friday everyone, hope you're ready for the weekend. Today I have the amazing O.P.I Sheer Tints to show you. As soon as I saw these I knew I needed them, they're so different to all the other polishes in my collection. Now the formula on these is thick, almost like honey so you need to work quickly and be patient. However the results are worth it. All the swatches below show 1 coat on the index finger, 2 coats in the middle finger, 3 coats on the ring finger and 4 coats on the little finger. I wouldn't suggest wearing more than 3 coats on it's own as it does get very thick. I'm Never Amberrassed is a stunning sunny yellow that builds up nicely to a rich amber colour. I Can Teal You Like Me is a aqua blue which gets quite dark as it the layers build up. Don't Violet Me Down is a lovely juicy grape purple. I love how yummy this colour looks! Be Magentale With Me is a gorgeous pink which is very sheer on the first coat but builds up nicely. Now the best part o...

#tbt Models Own Ice Neons - Swatches & Review

Image
Today's #tbt post is on Models Own Ice Neon Collection. These stunning polishes were released in March 2013. Wow, where has the time gone? A whole year later & Models Own are now releasing a new neon collection called Polish For Tans. I can not wait for these colours & next Wednesday I will be online ordering my set as soon as I am possible, but for now re-swatching their old neons will have to tide me over! All these swatches were done over a white base (HyperGel White Light) so that the neon could really pop. This is my preference & not in any way how you should wear these polishes, they can be worn without a white undie & they still look amazing! Pink Punch is a stunning pinky-coral & believe me the name is fitting. The neon glow packs a massive punch & I love how gorgeous this is on. Every time I wear this polish I remember just how much I love it. It's my fave of the collection. This was 2 coats over white, no topcoat. The second picture shows a t...

April Fools & Some Fool Nail Art

Image
April 1st heralds all sorts of internet nonsense, however there is usually some good April Fools from some of the beauty companies. First up is Barry M's brilliant effort! It looks so convincing. Next up is the fun but rather weak effort from Ciate. Adding a moustache to a polish bottle is a little lazy, however the names they gave the polishes saved the day. The ultimate collection to bring out your man’s inner gentlemen! The Gentlemen’s Collection contains 3 unique shades including ‘top hat and tails’ ‘smoking jacket’ and ‘lord of the manor’. Rimmel's Neon Apocalips. These actually would sell quite well so who knows, we may see some of these in the stores in the future. The last one of note is the amazing Benebait by Benefit. Check out this link to see the amazing website put together for this product. On Instagram they also had the most amazing video that went with this product . I was sad that Models Own didn't release anything, their past pranks have been so fun. Oh w...
